End of reel
The majority of contamination on any wound reel is on the edges, where slitting dust will gather. On the bottom side contamination from storage (such as wooden pallets) will be visible, while the top surface will harbour airborne contamination.
Clean the edge of each roll of material with a hand roller before starting the line.
Single-sided cleaning
Using a single-sided cleaner across the face of the web will dramatically improve any image transfer, coating, adhesion, lamination or packaging reject issues.
Ensure that the cleaner is used on every job, contamination will be pulled into the line with every substrate so it is vital that the unit is always used.
Double-Sided Cleaning
Cleaning both sides of the web will not only cut down on rejects caused by inclusions, it also ensures that no contamination from either side of the web is carried through in to the process.
Expensive downtime wasted hunting down particles causing repeat faults and cleaning them is eliminated.
